A Warm Abode in Winter Hills

We were approached by Mr. Himanshu for a project in Umang Winter Hills, Sector-77, Gurgaon. His requirements were simply a budget friendly modern, attractive and elegant house which we gladly went ahead with.
Mr. Himanshu and his family were a friendly and pleasant family to interact with and our team of interior designers indeed had very interesting discussions together.

1. Entrance Foyer

First impression is the last impression. This certainly resonates with the foyer area of this house. Our interior designers merged creativity and design in a seamless manner. One can see a shoe rack in a contrasting laminate from that of the overhead cabinets. The wall behind the shoe rack has a uniform diagonal pattern with grooves making it look chic. And the portrait adds a classic appeal. The false ceiling with a little cove is perfect to keep lighting just enough for the foyer area.

2. Living and Dining

A rich emerald green wall with beading makes the backdrop for this lovely living area. The seating is kept comfortable with two accent chairs and a large ‘L’ shaped sofa in a luscious apple red colour. Contrasting white cushions and bolsters add spunk to this area. Mr. Himanshu wanted the space to be cosy yet elegant and a home which is lively and welcoming and this was perfectly planned by our talented interior designers. The most accentuating element of this room is the false ceiling with its levels and various lighting patterns.

3. Master Bedroom

The master bedroom is a very calm and relaxing room with subtle lights. The bed back is clad in a pastel coloured wallpaper as well as a textured paint. This painted part is beautified with fine vertical POP grooves. This definitely is eye catching. The cove lighting facing towards the wall makes the room elegant.
The curved false ceiling inside has been give a pacific colour which balances the room. The side space has been utilised as a study table with a small ledge on the wall for keeping essentials which was required by our client. The TV unit has been included inside the wall in a smooth manner. A grey accent chair offset with an orange cushion unites very well with the walls and ceiling. There is enough walking space around the bed making it easy for its members to do different things at the same time.

4. Kids Room

Blue has been always been known to enliven any space or even a person’s wardrobe. Our clients have an adorable son so of course, blue is an obvious colour choice but we wanted to incorporate this colour in a ‘fusion’ sort of way. The emphasis was on maximum storage as well as spacious enough to sit and play.
The child’s room has a snug daybed which is decorated with a combination of brown, white and blue cushions. Marks Dzyn tried to use English colours in a subtle way. The wardrobes are in a beautiful array of colours with matching cubby holes. The study unit is in a distressed wood with blue paint in a triangular pattern. The most beautiful element is the cheerful wallpaper in the background with wooden shelves. From a distance it looks like a tree with leaves. We tried to bring in nature to the son’s bedroom.

5. Modular Kitchen

Our interior designers found the kitchen project of Mr Himanshu very interesting as the size was small but the storage required was enormous.
The L shaped modular kitchen has been given two colours. The upper cabinets are in cream and the lower cabinets in wood. The idea of two colours helps to magnify the space. The ceiling high cabinets give height to the room .The use of profile handles give it a trim look with accessibility made comfortable and easier. Basically the idea was to make this small kitchen sleek and smart.
The decision to add shelves on the wall was made to maintain a good circulation space. Overall if observed, each and every inch of the kitchen is well utilised by the interior designer in terms of appearance, functionality and space planning. The backsplash tiles are in mosaic which matched the wooden look of the drawers. The kitchen turned out quite splendid and this was much appreciated by Mr Himanshu.

Indeed a pleasure for Marks Dzyn to be a part of this project.
