Interior Designing for Duplex Home in Hauz Khas, Delhi

Marks Dzyn was pleased to meet a family who wanted to do their home in Hauz Khas, Delhi. We put together a design concept which complemented the layout of this duplex home. A very modern yet classic theme was suggested for this space in keeping with the natural surroundings.

Living Room

The drawing and dining area is combined with floor to ceiling doors for absorbing all that sunlight and fresh air. The flooring has been given a neutral Italian marble shade. It has been given a sophisticated look with an oak skirting. The entire color scheme is earthy with warm shades of beige and cream. A running wooden wall unit in dark oak is suggested for arranging mantelpieces and artifacts. The top part of the unit has horizontal mirror panels for adding that touch of class. A false ceiling with subtle recessed lights, cove lighting across the length of the room give the right amount of illumination to the room. An LED light enhances the wall unit as well as the niches in it. A soft white suede sofa adds elegance. A white high gloss laminate and mirrored walls would look appealing to enclose the bar area. A walnut framed mirror has the ability to make the space larger and magnificent.

This area has been given a special look. We have added a hedge across the boundary wall which adds a verdant look to our earthy living room. A fountain overlooking the glass doors is a picturesque sight in itself. Black metallic centre tables look regal in this setting.

A cozy and interesting sitting area has been made in the space below the stairway. An optimum usage of the space under the staircase area results in a cute cubbyhole area for books and frames. A brown chequered rug is all that is required for that dramatic effect.

Bed Room

The bedrooms have been given an earthy tone as well whether it’s the color of the drapes or the study table or the paneling behind the bed. Soft lighting has been added. The wall colors are fawn. The wooden flooring in light brown blends well with this concept.

The same flooring is in all the three bedrooms. Here a tufted headboard sets the mood. A wardrobe with sliding doors saves space. The niche next to that has been made into a workspace. Venetian blinds are suggested for privacy. The entire wall behind the bed has wooden panels.

This bedroom has been advised a light colored wall paper since it has a smaller size. Interesting wall shelves have been added for style and storage. A study niche has been created. A balcony space has been made with light furniture for sipping a beverage outdoors or for enjoying the weather outside.

The above concept went well with the surroundings of this busy yet plush South Delhi neighborhood and our team was pleased to go ahead with executing every detail of it.
