Marks Dzyn had the pleasure of designing a one bedroom apartment in Mahindra Luminare, Gurgaon for Mr. Atul Chhabra. He was very clear on his design brief and made no bones about his desire to make the space sophisticated and luxurious, something very illuminating. The house had to be an extension of his personality.
The 3d’s depict the design finalized for the client. The whole space is designed in a grey brown palette. These two colors are usually used to achieve a minimalist look but our designers cleverly used them to give it anything but a understated look.
The grey L-Shape sofa in the living room has brass legs. It has been paired with a round nested center table with metallic legs instantly giving it a touch of luxury .The grey self designed drapes add to the look.
The entire entrance foyer area looks nothing less than some palatial hotel lobby. There is a wall unit for displaying artifacts and collectibles, The tv panel is in a sleek grey design. A tall potted plant is placed in the corner to add some natural element into the room. Elegant single seaters have been placed with side tables for easy lounging.
The veneer panel on the wall adjacent to the sofa is specifically placed to add a distinct design element. A sleek console with metal legs has been installed. There are two pendant lights on each side. The back panel stands out in the entire space and goes very well with the black and cream marble flooring.
The dining and living has been subtly divided by a change in color scheme. A maroon fabric has been used for the dining chairs which adds a rich color to the area.
The bedroom being the most personal space for the owner had to be done in a simple yet very opulent way.
Wooden and ash grey were the two laminates chosen for the back wall. Our client preferred a black bed so these two shades were the best compliments. These elements definitely make the room look stately.
For the dressing, we went for a curved shape mirror back lit mirror with a vanity unit that automatically draws your attention.
The tv is mounted on a panel which is backlit to highlight the mdf slats. This helped create a symmetry on both sides i.e. the bed back wall and the tv panel wall. The ceiling is also in a slate color. There is a careful use of lighting which dims the room as per the requirement or illuminates when needed.
So this was the design concept created for Mr. Atul Chhabra and it was possible and achievable only due to the client’s detailed inputs. This project was definitely a welcome challenge.
